Unlike grand forts with high tourist footfall, Tera Fort has preserved its heritage charm, offering a unique combination of history, architecture, and peaceful rural surroundings.

The fort survived multiple invasions and earthquakes, especially the 1819 Rann of Kutch earthquake, which caused heavy damage.
Some portions of the fort have been restored and converted into a heritage homestay.
Handicraft and art preservation is encouraged through local NGOs operating from the site.
