Prabhuling jiroli
Pabargad Fort, nestled in the Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary in Ahmednagar district, is a lesser-known yet incredibly rewarding fort trek in the Sahyadris. With historical remnants, rugged trails, and a forest-clad ascent, this fort is a treat for serious trekkers and history lovers.
Pabargad dates back to the Bahmani and early Maratha era, likely used as a border observation point.
It lies close to other important forts like Patta, Aundha, and Bitangad, making it strategically important.
The fort was later integrated into the Maratha kingdom and served as a hilltop lookout post.
