Prabhuling jiroli
Tarapur Fort, located in Palghar district of Maharashtra, is a historic sea fort with a fascinating mix of Portuguese, Maratha, and British influences. Originally a small trading post and fort built during Silhara or Bahmani times.
Fortified by the Portuguese in the 16th century after they seized Tarapur.
Captured by Chhatrapati Chimaji Appa, brother of Peshwa Bajirao I, in 1739.
The British East India Company later used the fort for defense and administrative purposes.
