Prabhuling jiroli
The Vaidyanath Temple, also known as Baidyanath Dham, located in Deoghar, Jharkhand, is one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. It holds great importance for devotees seeking health, healing, and spiritual liberation. Vaidyanath is also part of the 51 Shakti Peethas, making it a rare confluence of Shiva and Shakti worship.
Mentioned in Shiva Purana, Skanda Purana, and Dwadasha Jyotirlinga Stotra.
As per legend, Ravana worshipped Lord Shiva here and offered all ten of his heads as sacrifice.
The current structure is believed to have been constructed by Maharaja of Giddhaur in the 16th century and later developed by other rulers and devotees.
Recognized as a Jyotirlinga and also believed by many to be a Shakti Peetha.
The Shiva lingam is worshipped as Vaidyanath – ‘Lord of Healing’.
Devotees offer Ganga Jal carried on foot during the holy Shravan month.
Performing Rudrabhishek, Kanwar Yatra, and Parthiv Pooja here is said to bring liberation from illness and karmic debts.
