Prabhuling jiroli
The Vaishno Devi Temple, located in Katra, Jammu & Kashmir, is one of the most sacred pilgrimage destinations in India. Nestled in the Trikuta Hills, this holy cave shrine attracts millions of devotees annually who undertake a challenging yet spiritually uplifting trek to seek blessings from Maa Vaishno Devi, an incarnation of the divine feminine energy.
The legend of Vaishno Devi dates back to the Treta Yuga, when the Goddess took the form of a human girl to uphold dharma.
She is believed to have meditated in the Trikuta Hills before merging with three supreme energies – Maha Kali, Maha Lakshmi, and Maha Saraswati.
The temple's cave houses the three natural rock formations (Pindies) representing the trinity of goddesses.
The shrine was discovered by Pandit Sridhar, a devotee who received a divine vision leading him to the cave.
Considered the second most visited religious shrine in India after Tirupati.
The 13-km trek to the holy cave is an act of faith undertaken by pilgrims chanting “Jai Mata Di!”
The Navaratri festival sees lakhs of devotees visiting during nine nights of celebration.
The temple is a symbol of shakti (divine feminine energy), perseverance, and inner strength.
